Personal media account for 13% of all web traffic in August
From a mark of about 6 or 7% this time last year, mobile devices and tablets now account for 13.3% of all Internet page views in the US as of August this year, according to Comscore. Traffic from mobiles (9%) and tablets (4%) have steadily grown over the last 12 months, as tablets become more accessible, more prolific, and web access becomes more and more accessible to the everyday out and about consumer.
Add to that the growing contingent of users who are accessing the web from their personal media devices while sitting on the couch watching TV (guilty as charged), and we’ll only continue to see this figure grow in the coming 12 months. In fact, I’d tip that as much as 25% of web traffic will come from mobile and tablet devices by this time next year – mark my words!
