Google Maps Coordinate – managing a mobile workforce

Great combination of a few pieces of technology to add value to the everyday workforce. Google Maps Coordinate can be used by anyone who has people in the field (workmen, salespeople, couriers etc) to coordinate and monitor their activity. You put the app on their phone, and when they’re ‘on the clock’ they login, so they come up on the coordinator’s google maps. Jobs can then be assigned to workers based on their proximity to a request, with check-in capabilities to run real-time communication and progress of what’s happening with each job.

Now, connect this to a SaaS based CRM like SalesForce (I hope Google is smart enough to create APIs) and businesses will be able to more effectively manage their customer data in real-time! As it’s charged on a ‘per user’ basis, it means that the technology is equally accessible to a small business as it is to a big one, which is great.
